Welcome back to our home build journey windows edition after that brief intermission. Today is all about ‘dem windows. Mr. Fresh Knack is all about the windows….but I am too. There was a lot of time spent (by the Mr.) figuring out windows for this house and that time was very well spent as I couldn’t be happier with how they look.
We replaced the windows in our old house with Pella windows and were pretty happy with them so we went the Pella route for this house as well. We went with double hung windows throughout the house with built in screens. Let me tell you THEY ARE AWESOME. We only have a couple that we have “opened” to get some air flow through the house while we are working and it amazes me how streamline a window can be.
We chose to do a white exterior window and the insides will be stained by us. Yes you heard that right all the windows and and doors will be stained by us. We chose to go that route so we could fully customize them the way we like instead of choosing the pre-finished options that Pella offered.
There you have the window update. We are closing in on the outside of the house being “boxed” in completely. Coming up in future posts will be siding/shingles/stone work. So tell me are you interested on the inside details like hvac/electric/water or is that stuff boring? I don’t particularly know anything about that stuff other than we need it but happy to share if people are interested.
