I am toying with the idea of doing some crochet jewelry made of wire but for now I will just test out how I can manage using yarn. In my first attempt I have to say that I am pretty satisfied with these earrings. I choose size 10 thread in a mint green color which is big this season. It was a pattern from a website www.seven-alive.com, I have linked to the pattern if you click here. A couple of things I did that are not part of the pattern is:

1) I put a little bit of super glue on each end to keep the stitches from sliding off the hoop.

2) I used my new favorite thing, fabric stiffener, on these to keep the stitches from twirling around the hoop.

Don’t be afraid of using wire. It is fab and i love it. Just take the plunge:) The earrings you made are great and i love the idea of using starch. Enjoy. (if you have any questions about using wire then please feel free to ask.)

I definitely think I will try it. I have heard that it is rough on the hands. Any recommendations on good books to work from?
